Woodstone is one of those archaic Taiwanese pizza establishments that is somehow still in business. My Taiwanese friend and I decided to eat here for some reason. NT$260 (actually, it's NT$286 after the 10% service charge) for all you can eat pizza sounded pretty good. The pictures of their pizza looked like it might be pretty good. It's an all you can eat restaurant, but in actuality, that's not true because it isn't buffet style. Instead, you sit in your seat and every 10 minutes or so a disgruntled worker will come by your table and ask if you want a piece of the pizza they're carrying. Therefore, it would take a long time to actually eat all you can, but I believe there is a time limit. We didn't find out because we didn't feel the need in putting more horrible pizza in our stomachs just to get our moneys worth. It would've been better to just give them the NT$286 after one slice of pizza and then go eat somewhere else.
After we saw and tried the first piece of pizza, my Taiwanese friend had a sad look on his face. He told me that Woodstone tastes like all the old pizza places that he used to eat at in Taipei when he was a kid. That was when there wasn't anything better offered in the area because Taiwanese hadn't learned how to properly make pizza at that time and Westerners hadn't opened up restaurants in Taipei, yet. I didn't bother individually critiquing each piece of pizza below in the pictures because I can cover them all right here. Besides, just looking at the pictures speaks for itself. The pieces of pizza that we had to wait for were really small. The bread tasted worse than the worst microwave pizza in America. There was little cheese, and it was very low quality. There was barely any sauce, and it was completely bland so you wouldn't know it was there anyway. There were barely any toppings given, and the toppings were all of low quality. Pretty much think of all the wrong things you could do to a pizza and you would get Woodstone pizza. I would eat the worst microwave pizza in America any day over Woodstone's pizza. Actually, I'd eat almost anything rather than Woodstone's food. I would fast for a day instead of eating at Woodstone.
On top of waiting exuberant amounts of time for horrible food, the customer service is some of the worst offered in Taipei. Actually, I don't really have any complaints in this category, but my Taiwanese friend said the staff were completely rude. He said the rudeness started on the phone when he made the reservation, then when we entered the restaurant, and throughout the whole dining experience. On our way out, he was walking past the kitchen in order to use the restroom before we left. One of the workers forcefully grabbed his arm and pulled him back, and said, "Where do you think you're going?" After recovering from his shock of the disturbing grab from the lady, he told her he was going to use the restroom. She told him it was outside near the elevator, and then proceeded to bring the next round of "pizza" to the current tortured soles that were still dining.
