MOS Burger 摩斯漢堡
I Recommend ☆☆☆☆ (only their cheeseburger)

In Taiwan, MOS Burger may be just another fast-food joint, but to a fresh-off-the-plane Westerner, it might be a new interesting fast-food place, so I thought I would review it. This Japanese fast-food company has over 100 locations in Taiwan. MOS Burger is less unhealthy than its fast-food competitors.
Their most unique items are the rice burgers: rice instead of a bread bun. I've tried them and think they're just OK. I think their burgers with bread buns are better, but I am biased because I am used to burgers with bread and am not an Asian who must have rice so many times a week or I'll lose my mind. If you want to try one of the rice burgers, I recommend the Yakiniku Rice Burger. Yakiniku means grilled meat, and in this case, it's beef accompanied with onions and a nice light sauce. The fried chicken is always a reliable choice. It's tender, juicy, and flavorful. My favorite MOS burger is the basic cheese burger. The sauce and chopped onions combination goes nicely together. Also, you can ask for it to be spicy and they'll add jalapeños to your burger at no charge. I find their cheese burger to be better than all the limited time offers that come along, which are usually not very good.
The meat patty at MOS Burger isn't 12% meat like at McDonald's. I ate fries at McDonald's every now and then after I learned this fact. Than I stopped eating fries at McDonald's when I learned how poisonous they were -- now I never go to McDonald's for anything but to use their bathroom in emergencies.
All their burgers come in a broad cone-like packaging, so you can eat it without getting your hands messy. Unfortunately, their fries are mushy and almost salt-less.
I recommend their breakfast items; they're a lot better than McDonald's. Breakfast is served from 5 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Your choices are sandwiches, egg burgers, a fish burger, and tea and coffee. The hot Banana Cafe Latte is good if you like sweet lattes.
Vegetarian options: Mushroom Ricer Burger (disgusting), Kinpira Rice Burger, Vegetable Croquette, Onion Rings, Fries, Agar Seaware Vegetable Salad. For breakfast, only the Tomato Egg Cheese Burger.
