Moooon River Cafe & Books is a unique cafe experience. It is a chilled place where people can go to relax, read books, drink coffee or tea, eat food, and/or have a quiet conversation. The decor of the place is amazing and regal and warrants a visit solely on that fact (see pictures). They specialize in coffee and tea, but have lots of other options as well from main dishes to desserts to go along with your drink. Their menu itself is placed in a classical book that you can keep throughout your dining experience if you choose to read it. If you didn't bring your own book(s), they have books that you can choose from to read or buy.
Things I tried on their menu: Coffee: The Lava, Cakes & Scones: Banana Hugging Walnut, True Colors of Chocolate, and Scone by Angel Annie. The waitress told me The Lava was a very sweet and rich chocolate coffee so I knew what I was in for. I have a sweet tooth and love dark chocolate so I liked the coffee, but definitely needed some water to go along with it. The Banana Hugging Walnut was banana bread with walnuts in it with a side of whipped-cream. Its consistency and moistness was good and I ended up enjoying this side dish the most. The scone had cranberries in it and a side of sweet caramel and whipped-cream. I really like cranberries in pastries and sweet dipping sauces so this selection was very nice as well. The True Colors of Chocolate was a chocolate cake with a side of whipped-cream. It was pretty bland in that it didn't have much of a sweet, chocolate, or moist taste. I don't recommend that cake selection.
This is the perfect place to go if you want to relax and read a book with a drink or snack. It's also a great place to have a little more privacy for your small group. The group seating has two very comfortable couches that seat four people, two per couch, facing a table. It's not a place to have a rowdy conversation with a large group of people. The food and drinks are not the best, but the decor and atmosphere is excellent.
Vegetarian options: Vegetable Lasagna, Salad choices, Waffles, Cake and Scones.

This cafe got its name from the classic song originally sung by Audrey Hepburn in the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, but Frank Sinatra made the song famous with his cover.
