_Very close to the Zhongshan MRT station. They have two cafes in lane 16, but you only go to the main one and you'll be seated at whichever one becomes available first. This cafe is very popular with the locals and you almost always see people waiting outside to get in, but this is more because they don't take reservations rather than the food being excellent. Cafes and restaurants that don't take reservations in order to create waiting lines so they can appear to be a popular place to a passersby should be put to the stake--THE AUDACITY OFFENDS ME!
Like some other cafes in Taipei, you have to order coffee or tea to dine in; this rule still applies if it's take-away. I always feel uncomfortable with this rule when I come across it, as I don't like being forced to order something that I might not feel like having. The waffles here are your quintessential Taiwanese thick, cakey, dense, brick-like items that could be used as a weapon--please chew a lot before swallowing to avoid choking to death. Even if you like these type of "waffles," they don't give you much in the way of toppings. Especially the Walnut or Almond Ice Cream Waffles that I ordered. There was one small scoop of ice cream in the middle with a few almonds on top (see picture below). The fruit tea and coffee with milk served separately were pretty good, but definitely not worth the price.

I like frozen waffles better than Melange's waffles--I'm serious--but it's really expensive to buy 100% pure maple syrup in Taipei.
