Café Café is the upper-scale version of The Diner; both have the same owners. Therefore, Café Café's items cost a little more and are more gourmet. However, I still prefer the omelets at The Diner. Café Café revamped its menu from their original concept. They focus on breakfast and brunch, but also offer such items as pasta, burgers, and a huge drink selection. I guess they couldn't think of a name for their cafe.
They seem to mostly market their Dutch baby pancakes. Dutch baby pancakes are German pancakes that were invented by German-American immigrants known as the Pennsylvania Dutch who were originally from southwestern Germany. They were known as German pancakes only, until Manca's Cafe in Seattle, Washington, started calling them Dutch baby pancakes. The name seemed to stick over German pancakes. It's traditionally a sweet rising pancake cooked in a cast iron pan and served for breakfast. The base ingredients are simple and cheap: flour, eggs, milk, sugar, and butter. Some of Café Café's Dutch baby pancakes, sweet and savory, are pretty good, but definitely overpriced given the ingredient's cost. However, at this point they aren't widely offered in Taipei, so Café Café is capitalizing on their uniqueness in Taiwan. They're definitely worth trying. Café Café offers many sweet and savory options, some better than others.
Overall, Café Café has some delicious and failed items. Most of the items are a bit overpriced, but it's a nice little place to chat with a friend.
