This location used to be a Cama. I went there one day to find that it was under construction. A-Cup Coffee's sign was already up, so I thought I'd come back and pay the new coffee shop a visit sometime after it was finalized. I was initially sad that a Cama was no longer in that location, but after trying A-Cup Coffee, I was very happy: it was just as good, if not better than Cama, and at the same price.
A-Cup Coffee makes one of the strongest cappuccinos that I've ever had. They use freshly roasted and air-tight stored coffee beans. Their medium cup contains 1.5 shots of espresso and their large cup 2 shots. Because of the type of beans they used and their freshness, a medium cup that contained 1.5 shots tasted stronger than other places that add 2 shots or even 3 shots to their coffee. That's how strong my cappuccino tasted, and I absolutely loved it because I prefer strong coffee. On my fifth visit, they said that some local clientele thought their coffee was too strong and were thinking about the option of asking people if they liked their coffee strong or not during the ordering process. In this way, less espresso shots could be added to a person's coffee if they didn't prefer strong-tasting coffee, and they could cater to both strong- and weak-coffee drinkers. I think it's a great idea.
My friend ordered one of their Twining Tea drinks and said it was great because they gave her two bags of tea in her drink.
A-Cup Coffee is an independent coffee shop to mark on your Google Map if you appreciate a strong cup of coffee. More and more excellent coffee shops are opening up around Taipei, but there still aren't many coffee shops that produce a robust, strong cup of coffee like A-Cup Coffee does. They produce a grade-A cup of coffee for sure.
